Week #1, Project 52 - 2014 Open North American Sled Dog Races
This week's photo is from day one of the 69th annual Open North American Championship sled dog races, the oldest continuously run sled dog race in the world. It’s a total time three day event that starts and ends in downtown Fairbanks. Days one and two cover a 20 mile loop and day three covers a 28 mile loop. This is a shot of heat one leader Arleigh Reynolds taken about 17 miles into the race as the teams are headed home. It takes a team a little over an hour to cover the twenty miles if everything goes without mishap.
Taken with a Canon 5D3, 70-200mm @125mm, 1/1000 sec, f/4.5, iso 100, Lightroom.
