Week #21, Project 52 – "Ruckus in the Muckus..." This week's photo is from the inaugural "Ruckus in the Muckus" obstacle course race held Saturday morning (5/26/12) at Birch Hill. The 24 hour rain from the previous day had let up so it was a beautiful morning. The race featured both 2k and 5k courses. This is just a random shot of two of the 440 registered participants. The Ruckus proceeds benefit the Warriors in Transition Unit at Fort Wainwright and the Birch Hill Maintenance Fund. Shot with a Canon 7D, 70-200mm lens @ 78mm, 1/1000 sec, f/2.8, iso 200.

Week #40, Project 52 – “Delta Walkabout…” This week’s photo is unique for no other reason than it’s October in interior Alaska and not only is there no snow on the ground, but gloves and hats could have stayed in the truck. The reason for the trip was to meet up with three old college chums and try our luck at a few good shots…them with shotguns and me with a Canon. We spent all day walking the Ag fields near Delta looking for what turned out to be the very elusive sharp-tailed grouse. Good thing a successful hunt is measured by good times spent with old friends.
